What industries does Meridian Ledger Group specialize in?
Meridian Ledger Group provides bookkeeping and financial operations support specifically for construction, real estate, and property management businesses. Services are structured around the financial workflows common to these industries, including job costing, vendor and subcontractor payments, rent-related bookkeeping, and property-level reporting.
What bookkeeping services are included?
Core services include monthly bookkeeping and account reconciliation, QuickBooks Online setup, cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping, organized payroll support, and clear financial reporting with business insights. Each is delivered on a consistent schedule with organized records.
Do you prepare or file taxes?
No. We do not provide tax preparation or tax filing, and we do not provide legal, tax, audit, or investment advisory services. What we do is keep your books accurate, reconciled, and organized so your CPA or tax professional can work from them directly.
What is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and what does Gold level mean?
A QuickBooks ProAdvisor is an accounting professional certified by Intuit in QuickBooks Online. Gold-tier ProAdvisors have met higher experience and certification requirements — including Level 1, Level 2, and Payroll certifications — and can support more complex client needs including industry-specific configurations.
Can you clean up an existing QuickBooks Online file?
Yes. Meridian Ledger Group performs QuickBooks Online cleanup and catch-up projects, including fixing miscategorized transactions, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and correcting opening balances so the file is accurate and current. See how cleanup and catch-up works.
Do you work with clients outside of Washington state?
Yes. While the firm is based in Lake Stevens, WA, bookkeeping and financial operations services are delivered virtually to businesses throughout the United States using secure, cloud-based tools.
How quickly can onboarding begin?
Most new clients are fully onboarded within one to two weeks. That typically includes a discovery call, secure access to QuickBooks Online, a review of the current chart of accounts, and an agreed-upon reporting and close schedule.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes. Client data is handled using bank-level security tools, least-privilege access controls, and secure document exchange. Sensitive information is never sent over unencrypted email.
How much does a cleanup cost?
It is priced by scope, not by a published rate card, because a single year on one bank account and three years across five accounts and two entities are genuinely different projects. The free health check is where the file gets looked at; the written scope that follows carries a fixed price, agreed before any work begins. No hourly surprises.
How long does a cleanup take?
That depends on how many periods and accounts are in scope and how quickly statements and documents come back. The scope you approve includes an estimated timeline, and you are told immediately if anything found mid-project would change it. Most files reach a state where monthly close can begin well before every historical detail is perfect — and that is usually the right sequence.
Will I lose any data?
No. Cleanup happens inside your existing QuickBooks Online file, which you continue to own and control. Nothing is deleted — transactions are recategorized, reconciled, or corrected, and QuickBooks Online keeps an audit log of every change. You can revoke our access at any time and the file stays exactly as it is.
Can you fix several years of bookkeeping?
Yes. Multi-year catch-up is normal work, not an exception. It is handled period by period, oldest first, so each year closes on numbers the following year can build on. See how cleanup and catch-up works.
Can you work with my CPA, and can I keep my current accountant?
Yes to both, and it is the arrangement we prefer. Meridian keeps the books; your CPA or tax preparer handles tax and advisory work. We can share access, answer their questions directly, and deliver the file in the format they ask for at year end. Nobody has to be replaced for this to work.
Do I need to be on QuickBooks Online already?
No. If you are on QuickBooks Desktop, spreadsheets, or another platform, we will look at what you have and talk through what a move to QuickBooks Online would involve — including whether it is worth doing at all right now.
What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping is the ongoing record: categorizing, reconciling, closing each month. Accounting interprets that record and files what has to be filed. Meridian does the bookkeeping half. Read the full explainer.
